[tp not_in=»es»]_MG_0780The Iberflora organising committee has approved the organisation of the I Iberflora International Landscape Gardening Congress, which will be held from 30th September to 2nd October to coincide with the next edition of the fair.

The initiative is part of the overall Iberflora strategy to give more prominence to the field of landscape gardening. This strategy has also involved the creation within the organising committee of a specific working group of professionals of the calibre of Gustavo Marina and Alejandra Pintos from the Projar Group. Moreover, in this new project Iberflora is also working in collaboration with sectorial and professional associations such as the Spanish Association of Gardening Companies (Asociación Española de Empresas de Jardinería, ASEJA),

the Association of Landscape and Environmental Restoration Companies (Asociación de Empresas Restauradoras de Paisaje y Medio Ambiente, ASERPYMA), and the Spanish Association of Public Parks and Gardens (Asociación Española de Parques y Jardines Públicos, PARJAP). The fair has even approved a new denomination and becomes the International Fair of Plants and Flowers, Landscaping, Gardening, Technology, and DIY Gardening Services.

The I Iberflora International Landscape Gardening Congress, which will take the form of a major parallel activity within the event, will last for three days. Each of these will be devoted to one of three main thematic axes: “Landscaping and Gardening”, “Production”, and “Floristry”.

The Scientific Committee of the Congress will be presided over by the university lecturer and researcher José Francisco Ballester-Olmos, who once again confirms his commitment to Iberflora “as a European interdisciplinary forum of ornamental horticulture, of landscaping, and of gardening”.

As the lecturer explains, the organisation of the Congress involves collaboration with some of the most authoritative voices of the green sector, from the specialised media to the administrations via groups such as the Spanish Association of Landscape Gardeners. The conference will include papers of great sectorial interest and also workshops and the presentation of projects referring to the field of landscape gardening.

Miguel Bixquert, the director of Iberflora, explains that the objective is to bring together at the Valencia Fair professionals from the green sectors from all over Spain, including those in charge of the areas of town planning and landscape of the various administrations (mainly municipal technicians).

With the slogan «the green sector event», Iberflora therefore hopes to consolidate the change of trend that it initiated during the last edition, which saw an increase in the supply (with 375 exhibiting firms) and a general improvement in business. “This year we expect to accentuate this growing commercial trend and also to strengthen the event as a professional and business meeting point, as a scenario for reflection, for training, and for information”, the director concludes.[/tp]
