Laura Salmerón, manager of the nursery and member of the Organizing Committee of Iberflora, has valued, among other things, la importancia de celebrar un certamen presencial como Iberflora, from 5 rd to 7 th of October at Feria Valencia: ¡Estamos deseando poder reunirnos con clientes y proveedores y ver las novedades que aporta la Feria de Iberflora!. For some it will be the first face-to-face fair after a year and a half without being able to go out and visit customers or receive visitors.
Regarding the novelties presented by Las Fresas este 2021, Salmerón states that "We will grow in green plant, we are making a range of hanging plants that our customers will soon receive with the label "Hanging collection" and also another assortment labeled Ficus elastica, that come to add to the one we already had of dracaenas under the slogan "Exotic Collection". As for flowering plant, most significantly, we will incorporate new varieties and ranges of colors to our assortment of dipladenias, with mini flowers and some yellow ones.”
From Vivero Las Fresas are satisfied with the direction of this campaign, an already widespread feeling in the sector: "The campaign 2021 it has been an exceptional campaign, with a significant increase in sales. In general there has been a lack of production in relation to demand and it has been difficult to meet the needs of all customers. The sale of houseplants has grown a lot, farms have emptied their stock and the availability of these products has been exhausted for several weeks, when they are normally products always available in our offer. As producers it has also been difficult to find plant cuttings that were not foreseen in our schedules to increase production and refill what has been emptied so quickly."
“At the export level there have also been good figures , but the increase in our case has been less than in the domestic market and based on the products of flower and spring season. But equally this year production has been sold 3 weeks ahead of schedule."
Laura Salmerón is cautious when talking about a change of trend in the consumption of flowers and plants: "It's hard to venture if it's a temporary thing or if there's a change of trend that's here to stay., but the truth is that during this last year the consumption of plants has increased. Spending more time at home has caused people to invest more time and money in gardening., decoration , the home... to live in a more welcoming environment. Perhaps these new consumers maintain these habits. I think younger people have started buying plants. Families with children who have seen gardening as an extraordinary way to spend quality time with the little ones.”
